Ben Hartman is an American-Israeli journalist and cannabis writer who lives outside Tel Aviv with his wife and two daughters. For seven years he worked as a reporter and columnist for The Jerusalem Post, and prior to that, as an editor and writer for Haaretz.com for three years. He has a BA in History from the University of Texas at Austin and an MA in Security Studies from Tel Aviv University, where his thesis focused on the proliferation of private military contractors in modern warfare.

His writings have appeared in The Daily Beast, The Texas Tribune, High Times, The Atlantic, CNN.com, The Texas Observer, Tablet, The Forward and The Jewish Chronicle. He’s appeared as a guest on Al-Jazeera English, CNN and New Zealand’s 3 News, and is a regular on-air guest for a number of international TV and radio outlets.

For two years he wrote and hosted his own crime and security news show on TLV1 radio, and he has worked as a regular contributor to Monocle Radio and performed radio reporting for BBC Radio.
